The concept for the web app has been inspired by the popular online Plumber game to demonstrate the connectivity of Buffalo’s products, which enable customers to store and access their data from anywhere in the world, any time, via an internet connection. Instead of racing against the clock to connect a tap with an overflow pipe, users are challenged to find the right pieces of cable or wireless technology to connect different hardware devices before successfully transferring data.
Different levels of the game represent different user locations - the home, the office or on the move, replicating Buffalo’s three main target user groups – and rewards within the game encourage the user to explore Buffalo’s product ranges and see how they can be used to optimum effect. Social media integration also allows users to share the application on Facebook and Twitter and compete to achieve the highest scores and a place on the leader board as well as the chance to win money off their favourite Buffalo products.
Built by Fluid using HTML5 and CSS 3 technology to a very high standard and on a dedicated URL, Buffalo’s application is targeting the full spectrum of users from desktop to mobile, ensuring the highest level of interactivity. It is also supported by the latest versions of all web browsers, which makes it ideal for Buffalo’s users, who tend to be early adopters and expect the very latest in cutting edge technology from this product provider.
