The system will enable the municipality to send multi-channel alerts and information whilst maintaining an interactive communication channel with the population

City Alert™ system will help our efforts to transfer the information to the population in an effective and interactive manner

eVigilo City Alert™ system has been launched by the city of Akko located in the north of Israel. The system will enable the municipality to inform the population in case of emergency and daily events. As part of the interactive project also the citizens will have the possibility to send reports to the authorities using a dedicated Smartphone application, developed by eVigilo. The created report can be accompanied also with a photo to facilitate authorities to fix the reported problem. Among others, the application will also enable the citizens to send geo-referenced panic alerts to authorities as well as to selected relatives.

The City Alert™ system will enable the municipality to send location based alerts and information across a variety of devices such as Smartphones, feature phones, fix-line, personal computers, social networks, emails and more. Upon registration the citizens will be able to get general information and alerts directly to their preferred device and subject to the preselected events and locations. As such only people from a specific area will get the notification and only if it relates to them.
Akko mayor Shimon Lakri has said: “The city of Akko invests considerable efforts and funds to increase the population’s personal sense of security. Both through operation of state-of-the-art emergency control rooms, as well as through proactive security patrols and 24/7 center of operations. We anticipate that the City Alert™ system will help our efforts to transfer the information to the population in an effective and interactive manner”.

eVigilo CEO Guy Weiss has added: “The City Alert™ system is a logical evolution and extension of the National Alert and Notification services we have developed for the IDF Home Front Command – Israel’s national civil defense authority. City Alert™ will enable the municipality to communicate in real-time and location based with the population using advanced communication technologies. We anticipate expanding the service to hundreds of authorities in Israel and the world, all of which are interested to increase the personal sense of security of their citizens”.
