After a comprehensive selection process, CHI (UK) Ltd was chosen as the preferred supplier to the British Transport Police. The new Armoury and Training software package, CHIPS, runs over the Force network and allows the Armoury and Firearms Training sections to share the same database of Officers, Weapons, Courses, Authorisations and other related records.
CHI customised the software specifically for BTP, enabling the functionality and flexibility of much higher priced software to be matched and bettered. The BTP CHIPS Armoury and Training records management system meets the precise needs of the officers at the ‘coal face’
The Managing Director of CHI, Neil Connor explains: "Police budgets are coming under more and more pressure, which is why a solution like CHIPS is a breath of fresh air. Combining excellent functionality with realistic pricing means more forces can take advantage of electronic recording of weapon issue and training and thus can comply more fully with the recommendations of the NPIA”
