Noir Naturals, handmade manufacturer of natural bath, body and aromatherapy products, announced their first annual Green Teacher Awards. Noir Naturals is celebrating Earth Day, and the company's silver level green business certification.

"Maintaining and giving back to the earth and society is important to me, and many in the community," says Charles Kennedy, owner of Noir Naturals. Kennedy created the award to reward teachers who have been instrumental in organizing and leading a green or eco-friendly project, lesson plan or initiative at their respective schools.

All teachers working in the continental US are eligible for this award. Students, teachers, and community members can submit nominations. The two winning teachers will each receive a $100 gift certificate from Noir Naturals, and a 2012 Green Teacher Certificate. Those nominating the winning teachers will each receive a $25 Noir Naturals gift certificate.

To nominate a teacher, visit The deadline for nominations is April 30th. Winners will be randomly selected and announced in early May.

Noir Naturals invites you to experience Yesterday Once More with them. The company does not test on animals nor use parabens, artificial dyes or pigments.

Kennedy was inspired in part by classic films and the desire to go back to a simpler, slower-paced time. He often reminisces back to a time when extended families had time to come together every weekend, and giving back to the community was the rule and not the exception. The company's mission of going back to the old ways includes giving back to the communities they operate in. They donate proceeds from their Asta Doggie Soap to the Louisiana SPCA in New Orleans, LA. Noir Naturals will donate proceeds from their soon to be released organic chamomile and lavender goat's milk baby soap to Houston, TX Be an Angel Foundation.
