Capital Photography Center recently re-launched a popular photography education program to imaging enthusiasts in the Metro DC Area. Following Penn Camera’s bankruptcy and subsequent acquisition by Calumet Photographic, Marie Joabar, the former Education Programs Manager for Penn Camera, decided to continue offering the highly sought after photography classes and went to work founding Capital Photography Center.

“The DC area is full of photographers, from casual shooters, to established professionals. Many of them attended classes at Penn Camera and now they can continue to do so at Capital Photography Center,” said Joabar. The response has been very positive and Joabar continually receives emails from former Penn Camera class students wishing her success and expressing their happiness knowing the classes will continue.

The re-launched curriculum continues to be taught by the same professional photographers and photographic educators which led the Penn Camera program to such success. Fueling the program with several exciting new classes brings with it a handful of talented, new instructors.

Some of their newest classes include “Lighting for Any Venue”, “iPhone Photography” and “Great Falls of the Potomac”. Classes are scheduled throughout the year and new classes and dates are added nearly every week – for a complete list, visit http://www.capitalphotographycenter.com.
