Magic Johnson Foundation (MJF) has called on Pop Labs to draw up a new play for its marketing.

Pop Labs will assist MJF in capitalizing on its award-winning national charity bracelet campaign launched by Arsenio Hall on Celebrity Apprentice. The campaign seeks to support organizations in ethnically diverse urban communities.

Pop Labs will team up with MJF Social Media Director, Aneesha Saleem, offering special counsel during the home stretch of the campaign.

“Pop Labs is proud to be part of such a fantastic partnership,” said Pop Labs CEO Gene McCubbin. “The Magic Johnson Foundation is a very worthy cause. We are glad we can use our digital and social media expertise to help them explore this opportunity.”

The black cord bracelets feature a small rectangular zinc alloy design with healthy words of inspiration. After the airing of the show, Walgreens put the bracelets in all of its nearly 7,800 stores. $2 of each bracelet will go to the Magic Johnson Foundation.

As part of the campaign, Walgreens is holding a Walk with Walgreens Instant Win Game encouraging communities to exercise and be active. Each bracelet sold comes with a pedometer, and those who track their steps are eligible to win an all-expense-paid trip to New York City for two, $5,000 spending money, and the opportunity to join Alison Sweeney at the season finale of The Celebrity Apprentice. Participants also have the chance to win Walgreens $100 gift cards, 12-Month Entertainment.com™ Savings Memberships and Exclusive Celebrity Apprentice Walk with Walgreens Kits.

MJF tapped Pop Labs to create an adaptable social media calendar. The company will also offer special counsel during the home stretch of the promotion to maximize the campaign’s impact.
