Expanding our headquarters and launching our mission to hire Veterans in Jacksonville opens the door for local talent to take advantage of our high-tech industry.

Universal Understanding (UU), an award-winning technology solution provider that empowers workforces to be more efficient, effective, and collaborative, announced it will welcome business and community leaders to an Open House on Friday, April 20, 2012. The Open House on Water Street will showcase the company’s continuing commitment to maintain its corporate headquarters in the Jacksonville business district and highlight its successful mission to hire U.S. Veterans. The new headquarters augments additional Jacksonville office locations that collectively house more than half of UU’s 50 team members, with new hires projected through 2012.

“Our commitment to the Jacksonville community, the downtown district in particular, and local revitalization programs has grown even stronger over the years,” said John Metzger, President & CEO of UU. “In our early days in Jacksonville, we received incredible support from a local incubator program, which was followed by exponential growth achieved by leveraging the talents of Jacksonville professionals. Expanding our headquarters and launching our mission to hire Veterans in Jacksonville opens the door for local talent to take advantage of our high-tech industry.”

UU’s mission to hire U.S. Veterans also will be showcased at the Open House. Metzger himself is an Air Force Veteran, and 15 percent of UU’s employees are U.S. Veterans. The two most recent hires at UU include two U.S. Veterans who are housed in the Jacksonville corporate headquarters. UU’s other offices are located in Herndon, VA, and Albuquerque, NM.

“As a Service Disabled, Veteran Owned Small Business, we carefully designed and developed a program to hire, train, and mentor U.S. Veterans to support our contracts, particularly in State and federal markets,” said Shane Satterlund, Managing Director of Consulting Services at UU. “We hold both prime contracts and subcontracts that warmly welcome the support and talents of our U.S. Veterans.” UU also is a HUBZone certified enterprise.

UU’s Open House will be held from 5:30-8:00 PM on Friday, April 20, 2012. The new corporate headquarters is located at One Enterprise Center, 225 Water Street, Suite 1575.
