Participants go through a life-changing week of exercise, learning, sane (but exquisite) eating and drinking and get re-oriented and re-motivated for the next year.

We give specific information to help you lose weight effectively, get fit, and maximize your time exercising. Exercise is medicine and we have a prescription for you with Younger and Thinner Next Year.

The enormously successful Younger Next Year Aspen Club Immersion weeks are coming back to Aspen in 2012—June 3rd-9th and Sept 23rd-29th.The week will be heavily based on the new YNY book, THINNER NEXT YEAR, which authors Chris Crowley and Professor Jennifer Sacheck, Ph.D. of Tufts are currently completing.

The new book is the How To Book of the Revolution in Aging. While Younger Next Year showed you overall strategy, Thinner Next Year shows you tactics. It shows you how to live the Younger Next Year/Thinner Next Year life, at the tactical, real-world level. Lots of deadly-serious, science-based detail about nutrition and weight management. Lots of detailed information about how your body works when you eat right and how your body goes haywire when you eat wrong. Highly motivational, highly detailed advice free of the gimmicks, nonsense and false promises that are common in conventional diet books.

In the same vein, there is rock-solid, cutting edge advice about aerobics and strength training exercises, which were developed at The Aspen Club. As Chris likes to say, “The Aspen Club has been the Engine Room for the much of the YNY/TNY Revolution.” In fact, Chris developed the exercise part of the new book at the Aspen Club, with Bill Fabrocini, P.T., OCS and Riggs Klika, Ph.D. FACSM. The basic learning was developed here by them; the illustrations for the book will be created here and much of the text was first created by Fabrocini and Klika. All three of them, of course, will be leading the Immersion Week.

This new WEEK will be a “preview-showcase” for, and will be closely based on, the new book and the new learning, both in terms of exercise and nutrition. The immersion weeks take place primarily at The Aspen Club & Spa, and are based upon Younger and Thinner, both of which explore the science of aging and how to turn back your biological clock through diet and exercise. The immersion week includes exercise programs and instruction, dietary advice, evaluations, lectures, and outdoor activities in beautiful Aspen, CO. Chris Crowley is here the entire week, motivating and participating in activities, giving talks and keeping the participants on track.

Participants in the immersion weeks may choose to stay at their own accommodations or at the Hotel Jerome, the oldest and one of the most elegant in Aspen. As part of the program, all meals will be provided at a selection of the best restaurants in town (including Montagna at the Little Nell, Jimmy’s and Nutrition Café at The Aspen Club.) The meals are tailored to the YOUNGER/THINNER lifestyle and the whole experience is an “instruction” on how to eat and drink well without sacrificing good taste.

Participants will learn state of the art fitness instruction from the professionals who helped to write the new book, including Riggs J. Klika and Bill Fabrocini. Each participant will have a series of assessments and the results will be used to create an individualized home based exercise program.

“The Immersion Weeks are designed to help you become a more active, healthy, and connected individual,” said Klika. “We give specific information to help you lose weight effectively, get fit, and maximize your time exercising. Exercise is medicine and we have a prescription for you with Younger and Thinner Next Year.”

Everything takes place in one of the most beautiful settings in the world—the mountains of Aspen, Colorado—and participants will enjoy the outdoors through hikes and outdoor classes.
The cost, including six nights at the Jerome and all but one meal (the free night): $4,500 per person ($8,000 per couple) or $3,500 for locals with no lodging costs. In order to keep the instruction personal, space is extremely limited. The deadline to sign up for the June session is May 1st. To see a video highlighting the week, click here:
