Timothy A. Dehring, senior vice president of transmission and engineering for Northern Indiana Public Service Company (NIPSCO) - a NiSource Company - has been elected as the new chair of Midwest ENERGY Association’s (MEA) Board of Directors. Dehring is responsible for NIPSCO's electric transmission business, as well as gas and electric engineering for the Merrillville, Ind. based company's transmission and distribution functions.
“I am honored to lead the association and I look forward to working closely with the board and membership to better serve our industry," said Dehring. "MEA focuses on providing education, training and information resources from successful business practices for the benefit of the entire energy delivery industry."
The Board has identified the areas of employee safety, leadership development, workforce development through community college partnerships, regulatory compliance, and streamlining the exchange of operating information and knowledge among regionally located member companies as strategic opportunities to invest resources for increased member value. These five areas align with many of challenges energy delivery companies face and are connected with the mission of MEA to be partners in operational excellence.
