Western Missouri Medical Center Hires New COO/Vice President, Clinical Services

After conducting a nationwide executive search led by healthcare leadership solutions firm B. E. Smith, Western Missouri Medical Center (WMMC) in Warrensburg, Mo., has hired Michael Gasparini as chief operating officer/vice president of clinical services. A seasoned healthcare executive with nearly 30 years of experience, Gasparini will assume his new duties at WMMC on April 16.

Michael’s leadership and operational experience as a vice president, as well as his clinical knowledge as a pharmacist, will prove him to be an asset to our medical center’s mission and vision.

Smith, Western Missouri Medical Center (WMMC) in Warrensburg, Mo., has hired Michael Gasparini as chief operating officer/vice president of clinical services. A seasoned healthcare executive with nearly 30 years of experience, Gasparini will assume his new duties at WMMC on April 16.

Prior to joining WMMC, Gasparini was vice president of operations at Henry County Hospital in New Castle, Ind. In addition to leading a team of 400 employees at Henry County, he successfully developed a profitable wound care program and opened a group of retail pharmacies that generated $10 million in revenue.

“WMMC was seeking an experienced healthcare operations executive with a successful track record in driving an outstanding patient experience and improving care delivery in a cost-effective manner,” said Teresa Collins, vice president of executive search for B. E. Smith, which conducted the national search for WMMC. “Michael’s skill set is a perfect fit for their needs.”

Gasparini earned a master’s in business administration at St. Francis University Graduate School of Business in Fort Wayne, Ind., a bachelor’s in pharmacy at Butler University in Indianapolis, Ind., and a bachelor’s of biological sciences at Indiana University in Bloomington, Ind. A licensed pharmacist, Gasparini is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE).
