Garden Acupuncture Patient Finishes Triathlon Only Months After Being Hit By A Car

While riding his bike, Jaki was hit by a car and suffered injuries to his back, hip and knees. Only four months later he competed in his first triathlon thanks to the therapy he received at Garden Acupuncture in Brooklyn.

I would not have had such amazing and inspiring results without the care and support I received from Lisa and Alex at Garden Acupuncture.

Last October Park Slope resident, Jaki, was struck by a car while riding his bike. He sustained a herniation in his lower back, a fractured hip, and a torn meniscus in his knee. After leaving the hospital, he was still in severe pain and immediately scheduled an appointment with his acupuncturists at Garden Acupuncture.

Three months of steady acupuncture treatment, a surgical repair of his knee, two months of using crutches and Jaki was ready to make a move to California.

Training began at a gradual pace but on April 1, 2012 Jaki and his sister competed in the Nautica South Beach Triathlon. They not only finished, they came in 75th out of 1400 participants.

Along with his own vision and commitment, Jaki attributes his successful journey from patient to triathlete to the care he received back in Brooklyn.
