“... the Guernsey Building has always held a special place in the downtown business community,” R.J. Finlay & Co. CEO Robert Finlay said. "We are excited to help generate substantial growth and value for Peterborough residents and business owners".

R.J. Finlay & Co. is excited to welcome Peterborough’s storied Guernsey Building, long an architectural gem and anchor in the downtown business community, to its growing regional portfolio of key commercial and multifamily properties.

Developed in the 1950s as the national headquarters of the American Guernsey Cattle Club, the five-story, 51,000-square-foot Guernsey Building has long stood as downtown Peterborough’s largest structure, today serving as multi-tenant office space for a host of prominent local businesses. With its trademark copper roof and classical brick facade, the building underwent a complete restoration in the 1990s and remains among the downtown’s most visually arresting spaces. R.J. Finlay & Co. acquired the site, located at 70 Main Street, on March 2 from Nashua-based Vear Commercial Properties, Inc.

R.J. Finlay & Co. looks to play an active role in the Peterborough business community, working closely with local officials and neighbors to help revitalize one of the region’s most celebrated downtown areas.

“Speaking as a proud Peterborough resident, the Guernsey Building has always held a special place in the downtown business community,” R.J. Finlay & Co. CEO Robert Finlay said. “There is so much history to this space and many more exciting chapters to be written within its walls. We are excited to be taking on this extraordinary property, to be developing important new relationships, and helping to generate substantial growth and value for Peterborough residents and business owners for many years to come.”

The Guernsey Building joins Nashua’s Indian Head Plaza, Hampton’s One Liberty Lane and Bedford Crossing- the former headquarters of AAA Northern New England- as the latest landmark New Hampshire property acquired by R.J. Finlay & Co. Interested parties can contact R.J. Finlay & Co.’s Director of Leasing, Kimberly Reagan, at (603) 672-0300 or at kreagan(at)rjfinlay(dot)com.
