Adds Code Snippets and Improved Contacts Manager

Panl Inc., a Toronto-based startup, today announced an updated version of its cloud based IT monitoring solution.

The latest release features a snippets library with fully coded solutions to common monitoring applications, and an improved contacts manager.

Panl makes monitoring simpler and better:

  • no learning curve - most monitors are one liners
  • no evaluation/purchase cycle - sign-up and start monitoring in less than 15 minutes
  • no up-front cost - pay by the month for the services needed
  • no software install required - use command line tools or Panl’s free plug-ins
  • no dedicated server needed - Panl runs in the cloud

Panl is specifically designed to handle specialized monitoring situations which aren’t supported by off-the-shelf monitoring products. Panl is targeted at developers, IT operations staff, and system administrators, with commercial plans starting at $10/month.

"IT monitoring software has traditionally cost thousands of dollars, requires download and installation, and is complex and hard to learn, often taking days or weeks to setup." said John Alsop, Panl CEO. "Panl runs in the cloud, so no installation is required, and can be fully operational in just a few minutes."

Panl provides a comprehensive web-based management console, allowing rapid configuration for many built-in monitoring services including HTTP, SMTP, DNS, and SQL Server. Configuration of custom monitors is fast and easy using Panl's web api. Panl also provides free iPhone and Android apps that include a system status dashboard. Alerting options include SMS, email, and push notifications.

"Panl provides an easy to use and flexible solution" said Bill Simpson, VP Operations at iRoam Mobile Solutions. "As early adopters, we've been extremely pleased - the ability to view the status of our key systems using Panl's mobile app has made life a lot simpler for our support staff!"
