Pingar can help organisations sift through content to analyse data and identify risk or opportunity

Pingar, a leading provider of unstructured data management solutions, today announced that its participation in the Hong Kong ICT Expo marks the company’s first year of business expansion in the region. As enterprises in China and Hong Kong recognise the importance of business analytics and begin deploying solutions to manage Big Data, support for unstructured data solutions that integrate with content management platforms is increasingly needed. Pingar’s advanced text analytics technology is gaining attention from government, infrastructure, health care, legal and financial organisations.

Pingar can be located at HKTD ICT Expo at booth 3G-G27. GSL International, a Pingar reseller, will also be presenting Pingar technology at booth 3F-E20

Mark Lunt, managing director Pingar Hong Kong Limited, vice president North Asia, says “Pingar’s expertise in processing Chinese text makes it a natural fit for intelligently managing the unstructured data component, the volume of which is growing by over 80 percent every year. We are increasingly called upon to automate the process of turning unstructured data into searchable and usable business intelligence and to improve time-to-information”.

Pingar opened its office in Cyberport in April 2011 in order to meet growth in the Hong Kong market driven by the need to lower risk, ensure regulatory compliance, and improve productivity and cost-effectiveness of document-centric business processes. A version of the Pingar API supporting Traditional and Simplified Chinese was first demonstrated at the Hong Kong SharePoint Conference in November 2011 and a collaborative research project is under way with Hong Kong Polytechnic University to further refine and extend Chinese language support.

“Chinese enterprises have to deal with large pools of disparate, unstructured data that can only be managed if it is first tagged with consistent, intelligent metadata. The volumes of data involved mean a highly scalable automatic process is required,” Mr. Lunt continues. “Pingar can help organisations sift through content to analyse data and identify risk or opportunity.”
