Sean P. McDonough, recognized expert on SharePoint disaster recovery (DR) and SharePoint performance management, will be a featured speaker at SharePoint Saturday Twin Cities hosting the session:
“SharePoint 2010 and Your DR Plan: New Capabilities, New Possibilities!” from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
DR planning for a SharePoint 2010 environment is something that must be performed to insure the data and the continuity of business operations. Microsoft made significant enhancements to the DR landscape with SharePoint 2010, and McDonough will take a good look at how the platform has evolved in this session. He will dive inside the improvements to the native backup and restore capabilities that are present in the SharePoint 2007 platform to see what has been changed and enhanced. McDonough will also look at the array of exciting new capabilities that have been integrated into the SharePoint 2010 platform, such as unattached content database recovery, SQL Server snapshot integration, and configuration-only backup and restore. At the end of the session, attendees will possess a solid understanding of how the DR landscape has changed with SharePoint 2010.
SharePoint Saturday is a free, educational and informative event filled with sessions from respected SharePoint professionals and MVPs covering a wide variety of SharePoint-orientated topics.
As a consultant, McDonough has worked with a number of Fortune 500 companies to architect, implement, troubleshoot, tune, and customize their SharePoint environments. He is an MCPD, an MCTS, and the co-author of both the “SharePoint 2007 Disaster Recovery Guide” and the “SharePoint 2010 Disaster Recovery Guide.” McDonough can be reached through his blog (http://SharePointInterface.com) or Twitter (@spmcdonough).
