For the sixth consecutive year, Hendy Mazda in Eastleigh and Mazda Motors UK are the official motor suppliers to Hampshire Cricket, providing vehicles to the professional players of the internationally renowned squad.

Hendy Mazda, based on Leigh Road, is co-sponsoring the Hampshire team with Mazda Motors UK by providing eight Mazda vehicles, including Mazda3 and Mazda6 models to the team’s elite players, who in return will promote the Mazda brand at matches across the country. The players receiving cars from Hendy Mazda are Manager Giles White, Captain Jimmy Adams, All-Rounders Dimitri Mascarenhas and Sean Ervine, Batsman Neil McKenzie, Bowler Kabir Ali and overseas players Simon Katich and Shahid Afridi.

The first Mazda6 hatchback and estate cars were delivered by Hendy Mazda’s Dealer Principal, Mark Busby to the players at their home ground, The Ageas Bowl this week.

“As avid supporters of the Hampshire team, it is a welcome opportunity for us to provide vehicles to the players for the sixth year running,” commented Busby. “Being so high profile in the cricketing world, they are certainly a team we are pleased to be associated with. Mazda is a keen supporter of sports, like cricket, as they represent the spirited Mazda brand perfectly.

“We are confident the players driving the Mazda3 and Mazda6 models will enjoy their sporty nature, luxurious cabin and practical interior space for stowing their kit.”

Hampshire Manager, Giles White said; “It is with great pleasure we are partnering with Hendy once again for the 2012 season. Most of the players receiving Mazdas this season had similar cars last year and found they performed exceptionally well.

“As cricketers, we need cars which can take the strain of carrying a lot of equipment and continue to perform well. This is something we have always found to be true of Mazda vehicles,” concluded White.

The Japanese brand is renowned for its range of reliable, stylish and fun-to-drive models. The newly upgraded Mazda3 five-door hatchback costs from just £13,361 on-the-road (including current 0% VAT saving) and offers an athletic drive, sports styling, a spacious interior, improved fuel economy and lower CO2 emissions – reduced to as little as 115g/km, depending on the model. There are 16 models to choose from with six trim levels – S, TS, TS2, TS2 Nav, Sport and Sport Nav.

The Mazda3’s larger sibling, the Mazda6, is available as either a hatchback or estate and comes with a choice of six engines and four trim levels – S, TS, TS2 and Sport – each packed with a host of equipment as standard.
