Virginia Marti College of Art and Design (VMCAD) of Lakewood, Ohio recently announced the decision to remove the $50.00 application fee from its admissions’ requirements for new students. Over the past school year, the Admissions office of the art and design college received several calls from teachers and counselors asking for application fee waivers. As Quinn Marti, Director of Admissions, explains, “It’s apparent everywhere that times are tough and money is tight for a lot of families right now - especially families who are hoping to send their kids to college. We wanted to take the burden off the applicants and make it a little easier to apply to any of our five degree programs, so the removal of the application fee seemed a benevolent step towards helping these students out.” The removal of the application fee at VMCAD is effective as of April 9th, 2012, and helps to pave the way for more young men and women with creative ambitions to seek a hands-on education at the arts entrepreneurship school.

“The staff at Virginia Marti feels very good about this decision,” Quinn confides. “It’s very much in the spirit of assistance Mrs. Virginia Marti-Veith herself encourages the staff to undertake for the students today – removing obstacles and helping young people to learn marketable skills in fields they already love. We’re glad to have made the decision.”
