In April, Laugh with the Cat Ladies of Comedy; Enjoy Vegan Fare in May at Angels & Kings Bar

Over the past two years Anjellicle Cats Rescue has found loving owners for more than 1,400 homeless cats and kittens.

Anjellicle Cats Rescue (ACR), a no-kill cat rescue and adoption organization, is starting the season off right with two fundraisers sure to put a spring in your step. Money raised during these fun-filled evenings benefits ACR and its efforts in rescuing, rehabilitating and adopting out New York City’s homeless cats and kittens. Over the past two years ACR has found homes for more than 1,400 felines.

On April 30 indulge in drinks and laughs with the Cat Ladies of Comedy and Their Little Dogs Too at the Soho Gallery for Digital Art at 138 Sullivan (between Houston and Prince). The fun kicks off at 6:00 p.m. with wine and food along with an Anjellicle Cats photo exhibit. At 7:00 p.m. Cat Ladies Hilary Schwartz, Rena Zager, Susannah Perlman and host Shecky Beagleman take the stage. Tickets are $20 and include food and wine. Purchase tickets at http://www.anjelliclecats.com and our kitty bouncer will have your name at the door.

On May 31 enjoy Vegan Drinks Bar Night at Angels & Kings Bar located at 500 East 11th Street (between Avenues A and B). The revelry runs from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Anjellicle Cats will host a raffle featuring a gift certificate from online store Vegan Essentials, among other fun and healthy prizes. There is no fee for entry; alcohol and bar snacks are available for purchase. A percentage of bar sales will be donated to Anjellicle Cats. This event is sponsored by Vegan Drinks (http://www.vegandrinks.org).

“We want people to come out and have fun as well as learn more about Anjellicle Cats,” says Kathryn Willis, Director of ACR, a member of the Mayor’s Alliance and a New Hope Partner with the New York City Animal Care & Control. “For example, volunteers at both events will share the benefits of fostering animals. We house about 200 cats in our foster network throughout the five boroughs and New Jersey plus three adoption centers in Manhattan. We are always looking for loving foster homes to help prepare our cats for adoption.”

About Anjellicle Cats Rescue
Anjellicle Cats Rescue (ACR) is a no-kill, all-volunteer, not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization, and a member of the Mayor's Alliance and a New Hope Partner with the New York City Animal Care & Control (ACC). Founded 15 years ago, ACR is headquartered in Hell’s Kitchen at Spoiled Brats Pet Food & Supplies. ACR works closely with the ACC to pull out cats in danger of being euthanized. Each rescued feline receives medical attention and is placed in a foster home or an ACR adoption center until a permanent home is found. New York-based ACR adoption centers are Petco (Columbus Ave. at 100th St., 212-222-6037); Petco (Lexington Ave. at 86th St., 212-369-7903); and Spoiled Brats Pet Food & Supplies (49th St. near 9th Ave., 212-459-1615). Anjellicle Cats Rescue Mission Statement
Anjellicle Cats Rescue (ACR) is a 501(c)(3) volunteer organization dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and adopting out New York City’s homeless cats and kittens, with a focus on local shelter animals in immediate danger of being euthanized. Through a coalition of volunteer advocates and foster caregivers, ACR extends a last-minute lifeline of time, attention and care needed to place these abandoned animals into permanent, loving homes. We believe no animal should be ill-treated and strive toward a day when awareness, education and compassion have succeeded to replace euthanasia as a solution to companion animal overpopulation.
