I believe firmly that society still has an extremely long way to go before women enjoy the same rights as men

Rajapack was founded in France, in 1954, by packaging pioneer Rachel Marcovici and business partner Janine Rocher as Cartons RAJA, specialising in re-usable cartons that offered a cheaper alternative to new ones.
Since that foundation by a woman in the male-dominated world of 50s business, the company has seen exclusively female CEOs and the formation of a charitable organisation - The RAJA-Danièle Marcovici Foundation - by current CEO and daughter of Rachel Marcovici, Danielé Marcovici, that supports the rights of women the world over.
“RAJA exists thanks to the drive and commitment of Rachel Marcovici, my mother, who fought to set up her business in the male-dominated universe of packaging distribution. I believe firmly that society still has an extremely long way to go before women enjoy the same rights as men,” said Danielé Marcovici.
The company continued to innovate through the decades, being one of the first companies to retail padded envelopes in Europe, send out mailshots of products and offer an emerging range of plastics-based packaging such as bubble wrap and cellophane.
Today, Rajapack offers 10,000 products from 10 distribution centres across Europe and delivers to 14 territories, whilst the RAJA-DMF continues to support projects that empower women.
