Institute for Financial Literacy Announces Winners of the 2012 Excellence in Financial Literacy Education (EIFLE) Awards

Record 19 individuals and organizations honored for their dedication and commitment to promoting financial literacy education worldwide

This year’s EIFLE winners are a shining example for those whose quest it is to make financial literacy education available to all segments of society.

The Institute for Financial Literacy (http://www.FinancialLit.org), a nonprofit 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization whose mission is to promote effective financial education and counseling, is pleased to announce the winners of the 2012 Excellence in Financial Literacy Education (EIFLE) Awards, which were presented today during a ceremony at the Annual Conference on Financial Education in Orlando, Florida. First introduced six years ago, the EIFLE Awards were created to acknowledge innovation, dedication and the commitment of individuals and organizations that support financial literacy education worldwide.

The Institute received a record number of nominations this year and awarded an unprecedented 19 EIFLE Awards to recipients in the following categories:

  •     Organization of the Year in the For-Profit Category – Fastweb, LLC
  •     Organization of the Year in the Nonprofit Category – Consolidated Credit Counseling Services, Inc.
  •     Educator of the Year – Mike McHugh, United Way of Northeast Florida, Real Sense Prosperity Campaign
  •     Education Program of the Year in the General Children’s Category – Cha-Ching: Money Smart Kids
  •     Education Program of the Year in the Children’s Financial Responsibility and Decision Making Category – Money Habitudes: How to be Rich in Life and Love
  •     Education Program of the Year in the Children’s Risk Management and Insurance Category – Fostering Hope: Preparing Today’s Youth for Tomorrow’s Future
  •     Education Program of the Year in the Children’s Saving and Investing Category – Financial Fitness for Life, Grades 9-12
  •     Education Program of the Year in the Adult’s General Category – Real Money Talk for Women
  •     Education Program of the Year in the Adult’s Investing and Retirement Planning Category – AARP Social Security Benefits Calculator
  •     Education Program of the Year in the Adult’s Money Management Category – Cashflownavigator
  •     Education Program of the Year in the Adult’s Credit Category – Applicant Background Investigation Drill (ABID)
