ServiceSource, which has five accredited regional offices and programs in nine states and the District of Columbia, has successfully streamlined incident management across its sites with Intelex’s web-based safety software.

“We implemented Intelex in September 2011 and we’ve already seen a marked improvement in our incident management process,” says Bill Ray, corporate safety manager at ServiceSource. “Reporting incident data is faster and easier.”

Before Intelex, ServiceSource relied on a patchwork of isolated systems and paper-based documents to manage its incident tracking and reporting processes. With more than 150 sites across its operations, these disparate systems made it difficult to monitor and trend incident data, proactively improve safety performance, and produce timely reports for insurance carriers, the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA), and other regulators.

Now, ServiceSource has real-time visibility into incident and accident-related data, a key advantage for an organization that must manage a wide variety of incidents across a broad array of clients and industries, from food service to mail centre management to janitorial services, all with varying levels of associated risk.

Critically, in moving to a web-based environment, ServiceSource needed more than a static, preformatted incident form to capture incident data since, due to the nature of the organization’s work, behavioral details are required elements of incident reports. This is where Intelex’s highly configurable software came into the picture, giving the organization a clear competitive advantage in meeting ServiceSource’s needs. Intelex was able to configure web-based forms and workflows that mirrored ServiceSource’s existing paper reporting processes.

“The basic incident reporting process has become significantly easier, and we’ve been able to actually monitor whether people are following through on critical steps in the reporting process,” explains Edythe Griffin, a security risk management administrator at ServiceSource.
