Now it's Lights, Camera, Action. Since the The-11Eleven11 Project™ launched six weeks ago, the 33 trainees have gone through an array of metamorphosis. Some started out being avid filmmakers, while others only dreamed and didn’t know much of anything of the art. Now, after an intense casting call and talent search the 11 Producers, 11 Writers and 11 Directors are in pre-production. The-11Eleven11 Project™ freshman class is preparing to shoot their movies and join the ranks of pundits of one of the most fascinating crafts on earth.
First up is the comedic film Nice Guy, written by Krystal Keith and starring veteran actor Miguel A. Nunez, Jr. who is also the team’s celebrity mentor. The film will be directed by Jean Young and produced by Melinda Tolbert. The cast and crew of Nice Guy will be on set bright and early Saturday, April 14, 2012. The second film Reckless is scheduled for principal photography on Sunday, April 15, 2012. Reckless was written by Kiami Davael (who will also appear in the film), produced by Leslie Day and directed by Glenda Giles. Christopher B. Pearman (Author of “Dream So Big” and father of child star franchise, Raven Symone) serves as the teams mentor.
Each week thereafter, Studio 11 Films will shoot two films per weekend with mini rap parties scheduled each week. The amazing well-written scripts in the line up are The Promise, Torn, Crossroads, A Boost of Love, Light Through the Fire, Behind the Gates, Nathan Gregory, Never Alone, and the epic film tentatively called Eleven.
A star-studded pre-production party was held in Atlanta from 8p-11p at the fabulous Tantra Restaurant & Lounge on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 to commence the second half of The-11Eleven11 Project™. Studio 11 Films hosted over 200 guests at the exclusive invitation only celebration. In attendance were Tamika Scott, one of the original members of Grammy award winning R&B group Escape, celebrity blogger Tami Reed and Miguel A. Nunez, Jr. Other's who celebrated with the filmmakers were Atlanta business professionals, government officials, family, friends and the film community.
The 11Eleven11 Project™ was created by Studio 11 Films in association with actor/director Kim Fields (currently Directing for Tyler Perry’s House of Payne), award winning writer/director Ed Weinberger (writer for Cosby Show, Mary Tyler Moore, Taxi) and actor/producer Mel Jackson (Living Single, Deliver Us From Eva and Motives) to connect the creativity of producers, directors, and writers trained to successfully create and produce quality film products.
