Charles E. Jordan Jr. presents the new book “Spending Time with God: Daily Devotionals to Empower the Life of the Saint” (published by WestBow Press) to readers who are searching for a daily devotional that will provide them with messages that will fuel them spiritually as they take on various situations that threaten America’s spiritual health.

Jordan fears for the spiritual state of the U.S. “I want readers to see that spending time with God must be a priority placed above anything else in this world,” he says.

An excerpt from “Spending Time with God”:

“Although America flourishes with food and is one of the wealthiest countries, there is an alert that needs be raised concerning our nation. The pantries of many of our homes are loaded with food for our bellies, but many of our souls are empty. There is not a shortage of food and water in the physical sense, but the Word of God which is more powerful than physical food is lacking in many of our lives. It seems that no one looks to the Word of God for guidance anymore. Many preachers that mount pulpits across this country each Sunday have neglected their conviction to populate the pews. The pulpit is not a place for a popularity contest, but the pulpit serves the purpose of feeding famished souls with the Bread of Life. Our nation is spiritually bankrupt and she is on the prowl for satisfaction.”

Jordan believes in the need for “Spending Time with God.” “It gives readers a positive outlook about the struggles that our world has been facing,” he says. “The devotionals do not overlook nor attempt to downplay the conditions that our world is against; instead, they give us insight on how to properly execute our faith when it counts the most.”
