Pamela M. Parry’s Ravenslea (published by Trafford Publishing) is a fictional historical novel about a family which spans three generations. Exploring the lives of three different women, the book contains elements that appeal to readers who enjoy intrigue, danger, romance and murder.
An excerpt from “Ravenslea”:
“The rain, which had been torrential a couple of hours ago, had now lessened to a slight drizzle, but the moonless November night was cold. A few sodden leaves swirled by a keen wind, made walking difficult. Overhead gas lamps glistened and flickered on the wet, slippery cobblestones as Brendan O’Grady stumbled ahead. It was quiet for a late Saturday night, but O’Grady appeared unaware of it. He had a smug, contented look on his face as he tapped the pocket of his bulging jacket. It had been so easy. Easier than he’d expected. The fact he had cheated did not bother his conscience. No one had noticed, so they were none the wiser.”
“It is not the normal blood-thirsty thriller with bad language and graphics that seem to appeal to a lot of people in this day and age,” Parry says, “but I believe if a reader is bored with that general trend and need something to actually get their teeth into, then they will definitely enjoy ‘Ravenslea.’”
