Ottawa, Canada (PRWEB) April 14, 2012
At the Women's Business Network gala on April 12, awards were presented to three impressive women, recognizing their outstanding leadership qualities, business acumen, and notable contributions to their field of practice and community. Dr. Suzanne Simpson, President and CEO of Ottawa-based HRSG is the winner of the 2012 Corporate Category. "It came as no surprise to me that Suzanne won this year's award" says Christine Lamothe, who nominated Suzanne for the award. "She is enthusiastic about her work and her role as a leader, and has led her company to great success."
Representing the only HR firm among the nominees, Dr. Simpson founded HRSG over twenty two years ago, to provide strategic human resource services, training and products, enabling clients to hire and develop a skilled, engaged and productive workforce. Since 1989, she has grown the business from a one person operation to an international corporation with a global footprint. In her capacity as leader, Dr. Simpson provides the vision, strategic direction and inspiration for HRSG's continuing success, respect and customer loyalty.
In addition to her corporate success, as an Officer in the Canadian Forces, Dr. Simpson played a major role in expanding women's opportunities through the research and development of programs/policies that will forever impact the role of women in the Canadian Forces. After leaving the forces, Dr. Simpson actively lobbied to expand women's opportunities, culminating in her being called as an expert witness in a history-making human rights case that resulted in the Canadian Forces being ordered to provide women with the full range of career opportunities enjoyed by their male counterparts - including combat duties in front-line operations.
