Winston-Salem, NC (PRWEB) April 17, 2012
Today DataChambers, a North Carolina-based information technology firm, announced it has earned a five-year contract extension from Charlotte Pipe, the nation's leading maker of cast iron and plastic pipes and fittings. Under the terms of the agreement, DataChambers will host a disaster recovery data center for Charlotte Pipe through 2016.
Charlotte Pipe made the move to DataChambers in 2009 to ensure uninterrupted operations in the event of a network or a system failure. The company also realized a significant reduction in information technology costs.
“Based on the service and support we’ve received and the significant improvements we’ve seen in uptime and performance, there was a compelling case to be made for extending our contract with DataChambers over a significantly longer term,” says Cam Faison, CIO for Charlotte Pipe. “We’re able to take advantage of a quality data center environment at an affordable rate, backed by a highly responsive team of professionals.”
Charlotte Pipe’s systems are housed in an underground, blast-resistant building with redundant power and air conditioning, redundant fire suppression and security systems and redundant connectivity to virtually every major carrier in the nation.
“Charlotte Pipe’s computer network is a mission-critical tool that can impact production, customer service and profitability,” says Nicholas Kottyan, CEO of DataChambers. “We’re delighted to offer the levels of performance and protection they need.”
