Solution provides enterprises with cloud governance and automation for Dell’s OpenStack-powered reference architecture

The Enterprise Cloud Management Solution
Dell has partnered with enStratus to help deliver a proven solution to meet the emerging need for enterprise cloud management.

enStratus today announced it has joined Dell’s Emerging Solutions Ecosystem, designed to deliver complementary best-of-breed cloud components including hardware, software and services validated for interoperability. Through this program, enStratus will deliver an enterprise cloud management solution globally for Dell OpenStack-powered clouds. This new combined solution enables enterprises to power and manage their clouds based on the Dell OpenStack-powered reference architecture with the governance and automation they require.

“Dell continues to lead the industry by providing a complete solution for enterprises moving to the cloud,” said John Igoe, executive director of Cloud Solutions at Dell. “Dell has partnered with enStratus to help deliver a proven solution to meet the emerging need for enterprise cloud management.”

Tested, validated, and supported by Dell, the reference architecture is based on Dell PowerEdge C Series servers which capture the efficiencies and design lessons learned from some of the world’s largest hosting and cloud providers, while being engineered to maximize revenue per square foot within the data center.

Using the combined enStratus and Dell solution, enterprises with OpenStack-powered clouds gain the ability to:

  • Deliver applications with consistent governance and automation
  • Control budgets and security access for the cloud
  • Automate their infrastructure—including auto-scaling, automated backups, and automated recovery
  • Leverage the configuration management solutions and operations tools that meet business needs
  • Integrate their cloud into internal systems—including LDAP/AD, billing, monitoring and more

“As the cloud market continues to gain momentum, enterprises are looking to leverage a proven solution from leaders in the industry for their clouds,” said David Bagley, Chief Executive Office at enStratus. “This partnership meets this goal for enterprises by combining Dell’s OpenStack reference architecture and the leading cloud management capabilities from enStratus.”
