SFGate.com Sets Monthly Record for Visitors and Page Views

In March, the Bay Area’s No. 1 local news site attracted 15.2 million unique visitors who viewed over 161 million pages

“SFGate.com continues to be the Bay Area’s most visited local online news source as evidenced by the growth in unique visitors and by the increased level of engagement that visitors have with the site,” said President Mark Adkins.

SFGate.com achieved record-setting visits and page views in March 2012 as visitors came to the site for coverage of local news events and for the site’s extensive blogs and photo galleries. According to Omniture Site Catalyst, over 15.2 million unique visitors came to the site in March, pushing page views to a record 161.6 million. The previous record was 14.3 million unique visitors set in October 2011 and 143 million page views set in January 2012.

Besides news updates, the most popular features on SFGate are blogs, such as the Daily Dish, Hot Tops and the SFGate blog. Visitors also read features and listings for automotive and real estate, as well as sports and business news.

SFGate.com consistently ranks as the most-visited news website in the Bay Area. It is also among the Top 10 U.S. newspaper sites in overall traffic, according to ComScore, ranking as the sixth most popular site in the country in March 2012.
