Hip hop artist King Mouder recently released his mixtape “Nivlem.” Coast 2 Coast Mixtapes presents the project, which is now available for free download. “Nivlem” features King Mouder on tracks with guest artist appearances from Chronic Boo, J.R., and Dutch.
King Mouder started rapping at the age of 13 as the youngest member of the Cleveland-based hip hop collective Crooked County. “Nivlem”—which is his given first name, Melvin, spelled backward—is his first solo mixtape. It is based on Mouder’s life as an up-and-coming 16-year old artist. Reflecting the everyday trials of a teen lyricist growing up in inner city Cleveland, “Nivlem” shows a more mature approach to music than we hear with most teenage rappers. Citing some of his influences as Lil Wayne, OJ Da Juiceman, Master P, Pimp C, Kanye West, and Curren$y, Mouder is primed to open up a new market. Currently, he is working on a group project with his indie labelmates, Crooked County, titled “Cutthroat Classics.” It is slated for release in June through Coast 2 Coast Mixtapes, along with a six-song EP later in the summer.
