In celebration of springtime and Cherry Blossom season, restaurant Asiate at Mandarin Oriental, New York invites guests to savor the flavors of a special menu inspired by the Cherry Blossom Dinner being served by Executive Chef Toni Robertson at the James Beard House this month.

In celebration of springtime and Cherry Blossom season, restaurant Asiate at Mandarin Oriental, New York invites guests to savor the flavors of a special menu inspired by the Cherry Blossom Dinner being served by Executive Chef Toni Robertson at the James Beard House this month. For the past 6 years, the Cherry Blossom Dinner at the James Beard House has been a Mandarin Oriental, New York tradition with past Asiate chefs Nori Sugi and Brandon Kida. This year Chef Toni Robertson created a special version of her James Beard Cherry Blossom menu to share with Asiate’s guests. Asiate’s 7-course Cherry Blossom Tasting Menu is available April 3 – 30, 2012 and includes:

RESTAURANT ASIATE’S CHERRY BLOSSOM TASTING MENU

  •     Hamachi with Preserved Cherry Blossom & White Soy Ponzu
  •     Fois Gras Torchon with Honey Poached Sour Cherries
  •     Chilled Buckwheat Noodles with Cherry Blossom Tea
  •     Black Cod in a Cherry Blossom Miso Broth
  •     Butter Poached Lobster with Polenta & Kaffir Emulsion
  •     Wagya Beef with Smoked Potato Purée & Yuzu Koshou
  •     Warm Chocolate Cake, Almond Sorbet, Cherry Blossom Crémeux & Mango Pistachio Gâteau

Asiate’s Cherry Blossom Tasting Menu is available during dinner service only and is priced at
USD 145 per person. Wine pairings artfully selected by Wine Director Annie Turso are available for an additional $95 per person. Reservations are available by phone at 212 805 8800 or by booking online at http://www.opentable.com.
