Northern Virginia’s largest “Open House” home tour is a two-day event that attracts thousands of visitors from around the greater Washington Metropolitan and Northern Virginia areas. This free, self-guided tour is in its 15th year and will take place the weekend of April 28th and 29th from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Signature sponsors include the Wells Fargo Builder Division and a brand new riverfront community in Virginia’s Northern Neck called Rappahannock Cliffs. Thanks to the generosity of its sponsors and participants, the Parade of Homes is open to the public at no charge.

This year’s parade is remarkably diverse, featuring homes designed for a wide array of tastes, lifestyles and budgets. The self-guided tour offers homebuyers and architecture buffs a chance to explore the region’s most innovative single family homes, custom homes, townhomes, condominiums, and active adult offerings. Those interested in universal design, green certified design, and Energy Star rated homes will also have plenty to explore the weekend of April 28th and 29th. There will even be homes available for immediate delivery.

The Parade of Homes spans locations in Loudoun County, Fairfax County, Prince William County, Fauquier County, Mount Vernon, Arlington, Alexandria and the Northern Neck. The tour includes both new construction and remodeled homes offered in a variety of price ranges and neighborhood types. A complete list of locations and communities is now available at vaparade.com

The event allows many of the area’s leading builders and remodelers the opportunity to showcase their craftsmanship, innovative design features, dynamic floor plans and the latest in interior design ideas.
Creating an individual tour is easy at vaparade.com. Using the website, a personal tour can be automatically created and mapped with driving directions based upon your individual choices and sorted by location, home type and price range.

Again, the public is invited to visit these homes free of charge. The Parade of Homes will also benefit NVBIA’s charitable organization, HomeAid Northern Virginia (http://www.homeaidnova.org), which builds and renovates shelters for the homeless and provides critical support to children and struggling families.

The Realtor preview day is Tuesday, April 24th from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information, please contact Susan Brooks at 571-283-6304 or by email at susanbrooks2@cox.net
