Those who don’t pass the phone interview don’t get inside the door for a face-to-face interview. This is important for all job-seekers faced with the 'faceless interview,' but it’s particularly challenging for the visually impaired.
Trumbull, CT (PRWEB) April 16, 2012
At this year’s annual spring meeting of the Council of State Administrators of Vocational Rehabilitation (CSAVR), Paul Bailo, MBA, MSW, Ph.D. (candidate), and Founder and CEO of Phone Interview Pro, will address the importance of instituting phone-interview training programs, particularly for those who are blind or visually handicapped. This year’s meeting will take place April 21-27 in Bethesda, Maryland.
A regular speaker at industry conferences and in the media on topics relating to acing a phone interview, Mr. Bailo is the author of The Essential Phone Interview Handbook, the only book of its kind, available globally, that focuses on preparing for phone interviews. In his presentations at the CSAVR meeting, Mr. Bailo will discuss the challenges faced by the visually handicapped in successfully completing a phone interview and how to address those challenges via an innovative phone evaluation program. Mr. Bailo is currently implementing the Phone Interview Pro training program with both the Massachusetts and New York State Commissioners for the Blind.
“Today, more than ever, job candidates are screened by prospective employers via the telephone,” said Mr. Bailo. “Those who don’t pass the phone interview don’t get inside the door for a face-to-face interview with a hiring decision-maker. This is important for all job-seekers faced with the ‘faceless interview,’ but it’s particularly challenging for the visually impaired.”
Phone Interview Pro is the only coaching resource of its kind that has created a 250+ point phone evaluation for the career service industry. The patent-pending algorithmic grading system is based on years of corporate recruiting research, human resources development and a massive database of phone interview test results.
“With state counselors inundated with unemployed candidates looking for jobs, Phone Interview Pro’s training program can compliment the role of the career counselor to impact career readiness for the visually impaired and secure jobs for these candidates,” added Bailo.
