Toastmasters: Where Leaders are Made
Rosemont, IL (PRWEB) April 16, 2012
”Step up to Leadership” is this year’s theme for Toastmasters International District 30 Annual Spring Conference planned for Friday, April 20 through Saturday, April 21 at the Crowne Plaza Chicago O’Hare Hotel, 5440 North River Road, Rosemont, IL. This year’s keynote speaker will be Toastmasters International President Michael Notaro. For information on attending, visit http://d30toastmasters.org.
Hundreds of Toastmasters members in the surrounding Chicago area — as well as their family, friends, and the general public — will gather together to attend educational presentations on how to sharpen their public speaking, communication and leadership skills.
“This year’s spring conference is particularly important,” said Toastmasters District 30 Governor Srinivas Saineni. “The 2011 -2012 Toastmasters International President Michael Notaro will make a rare appearance to be our keynote speaker and lead several educational sessions. The International President visits district conferences every six years,” explained Saineni, who is a top district leader overseeing more than 220 Toastmasters clubs in District 30.
Notaro will cover topics relevant to everyday people and professionals who want to improve their communication and leadership skills, including “Toastmasters: Where Leaders are Made” — demonstrating how Toastmasters educational program helps members discover and nurture their leadership abilities.
As the head of the Toastmasters International Board of Directors, Notaro is a “working ambassador” for the organization. He collaborates with the Board to develop, support and modify the policies and procedures that guide the organization in fulfilling its mission.
In addition to the conference educational sessions, District 30’s top-notch speakers will compete in the District 30 Table Topics Contest scheduled for Friday night and the District 30 International Speech Contest scheduled for Saturday night. Both days of the conference promise to be packed with fun, excitement and learning.
