Continuing its commitment to strong growth in e-commerce, family-run department store company Belk, Inc. has launched enhancements to its gift card program to benefit its online customers as well as nonprofit organizations and companies in communities served by Belk.
Belk gifts cards are now redeemable on belk.com providing online shoppers with more flexibility and convenience. The new checkout option allows customers to keep track of the gift cards entered and add up to five cards per order. Customers also can check the balance of their cards before applying it to their purchases.
In addition, Belk offers a 10 percent discount for gift card purchases of $1,000 or more to qualifying nonprofit organizations and companies. This option provides an outstanding fundraising opportunity for community charities and nonprofit organizations by allowing them to resell the gift cards at face value and keep the proceeds. Belk also offers the discount to for-profit companies that want to use Belk gift cards to recognize employees, thank customers or acknowledge special occasions.
Nonprofit organizations (including foundations and schools) and businesses interested in taking advantage of the discount Belk gift card programs can call 704-426-1817 or visit Belk Fundraising and Corporate Gift Card Programs.
“We’re pleased to offer these gift card enhancements that provide added-value for our shoppers,” said Jon Pollack, Belk, Inc. executive vice president, sales promotion, marketing and e-commerce. “The gift card discount programs are great ways for Belk to support nonprofits and companies in the communities we serve.”
Last year, Belk and its associates, vendors and customers contributed more than $18.3 million to local communities through charitable initiatives such as the semi-annual Belk Charity Sale.
