LumiGrow announces record-breaking Q1 2012. Strong sales attributed to rising demand for high-performance, energy-efficient horticultural lighting among commercial growers.

Now growers don’t have to choose between increasing yields and reducing operating costs. With LumiGrow, they get both.

LumiGrow, Inc. (http://www.lumigrow.com), the market and technology leader in smart horticultural lighting, today announced the close of its strongest first quarter to date. The record-breaking quarter equaled 50 percent of full-year 2011 revenue with new offerings, including the LumiBar™ LED system, contributing 25 percent of total product sales.

During the quarter, LumiGrow also expanded its sales department head count by 33 percent, deployed more than 350 new customer installations, launched a channel partner program and scaled manufacturing to keep pace with fast-rising demand.

"Customer results are spurring the rapid adoption of the LumiGrow solution," said Kevin Wells, president and CEO, LumiGrow, Inc. He continued, “Thousands of customer installations and study after study prove that LumiGrow lights double the crop yields of conventional greenhouse lighting at the same level of energy consumption.”

Wells also credits the growing body of academic research on the application of LED technologies for horticultural applications with driving demand from commercial flower, food and algae growers.

“Growers are learning that LED lighting can be fine-tuned to deliver the color spectrum plants need to thrive without energy waste,” Wells explained. “Now growers don’t have to choose between increasing yields and reducing operating costs. With LumiGrow, they get both.”
