Citelighter, the academic research platform and collective knowledge database, has announced a partnership with leading provider of innovative teaching, learning and research solutions for the academic, professional and library markets worldwide, Cengage Learning, to deliver a premium version of the Citelighter product, known as Citelighter Pro. Citelighter Pro will be available to students and educators beginning in May, and users looking to get familiar with the tool can still obtain the no-cost version presently found at http://www.citelighter.com.

Since its inception, Citelighter has aimed to become the premier outlet for research and data aggregation. Using its intuitive “Internet highlighter,” students, professionals, and Internet users can capture and save information into “projects.” From there, they can add comments, while automatically creating proper bibliographic citations for the captured content.

The partnership between Cengage Learning and Citelighter will provide Citelighter Pro users with access to select content from Cengage Learning products such as Questia. Cengage Learning’s portfolio of innovative online research tools provides users with immediate access to millions of credible, published information sources including journals, magazines, newspapers, and transcripts.

Citelighter Pro will be able to make recommendations from this premium content based on what each user is researching. Additionally, all facts captured by users on the Citelighter platform will be made available through Citelighter's innovative Knowledge Card system, which aggregates facts and presents the most relevant ones directly to the public. "We are very excited about offering Citelighter users premium content that can't be found elsewhere. It will enable them to use and curate higher quality facts for their research needs, and for the community as a whole," says Co-founder and CEO Saad Alam.

Both companies believe that access to Cengage Learning content, the majority of which is not available for free on the Internet, combined with Citelighter’s ability to easily store and organize the information will help students differentiate themselves and their work from that of their peers.
