New CTE Courses from ODYSSEYWARE Support College and Career Readiness

Career technology courses provide realistic pathways to employability.

Over the last few decades, the American dream has become increasingly unattainable for many citizens. As the focus of the economy shifts away from manufacturing toward service, information, and knowledge, students graduate from high school unprepared for careers and college.

To add to this dismal picture, the education system in America has continued to focus primarily on college readiness, when in truth, only 69 percent of students graduate from high school in four years, and colleges graduate about half of their students in six years.

ODYSSEYWARE is pleased to be a part of the solution by introducing a new slate of courses ideal for placement into three Career Technology Education (CTE) career clusters. Planned for release this fall, these courses easily fit into the programs of study developed by individual schools to help students navigate their way to greater success in college and career.

These new courses are ideal for Business Management and Administration, Health Science, and Hospitality and Tourism Career Clusters as identified by the Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE).

These new courses that emphasize career and college preparation will be added to current ODYSSEYWARE courses already suited for use in specific CTE pathways. In fact, all courses included in the ODYSSEYWARE learning management system promote critical thinking and problem solving, while encouraging students to take responsibility for their own learning.
