Woodworkers who relish owning new tools and celebrate American craftsmanship will appreciate the One-Time Tool Program offered by Woodcraft in partnership with Woodpeckers.
“The One-Time Tool Program gives woodworkers the opportunity to purchase unique, high quality tools made in the United States that are only available for a limited time and then retired,” Woodcraft product development manager George Snyder said. “Rich Hummel at Woodpeckers designs each One-Time Tool, makes one or two samples, and then sends photos and information to Woodcraft so we can let our customers know what is currently available through our retail stores and on the Internet. After the cutoff date, we send our orders to Woodpeckers. The tools are made in their shop outside Cleveland, Ohio, and then shipped to customers within two to three months.”
“For example, through the end of April, a Pythagoras Gauge is the featured One-Time Tool, available individually in four sizes (7", 12", 24" and 40") and as a set of four,” Snyder said. “The intent of this innovative tool is to enable woodworkers to check the accuracy of a 90° angle without any measuring or math.” Snyder said the design is based on a 2,500-year-old formula (a2 + b2 = c2) developed by the Greek mathematician Pythagoras. The gauges are machined from aircraft grade aluminum, anodized for smart appearance and durability, and assembled by hand.
