Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) April 17, 2012
CitySpoon Inc’s SpoonerSpot (SpoonerSpot.com), a new social networking platform that bridges that gap between the virtual world and the brick and mortar, has continued to improve the geographic micro-blogging experience today by releasing an updated version of the site. SpoonerSpot, which is currently in a beta development phase, has been receiving feedback from its beta testing community since the site went live at the beginning of March. This feedback was immediately put to use by CitySpoon’s team, working to enhance the overall experience of SpoonerSpot. Today the first of a variety of enhancement updates has been launched, allowing users to enjoy SpoonerSpot’s key functionalities with greater ease, as the development team at CitySpoon Inc. continues to move SpoonerSpot closer to an official launch date towards the end of the second quarter of 2012.
SpoonerSpot allows users to “put their life on the map” by interacting with the site’s engaging geographic display. Spooners (SpoonerSpot users) simply find any location on the globe, and can instantly share that Spot to their friends, along with pictures and stories. Each user is then treated to a personalized, custom map highlighting important places of their friends and family every time they log in.
SpoonerSpot launched its most recent beta phase in March of this year, and received a flood of new users. While the general concept of geographic micro-blogging was an instant hit with these users, some layout and design elements lacked the appeal that CitySpoon’s team felt was necessary for a fully engaging social networking platform. The team sought feedback from the beta testing community, and was given a variety of ideas and requested features to increase the overall experience that SpoonerSpot provides.
The information from the beta testing community was dissected by CitySpoon’s development team, turning a variety of thoughts and ideas into functional concepts that could be applied to the SpoonerSpot framework. Through several meetings discussing overall User Interface and User Experience, the next level of SpoonerSpot.com began to take shape. A more functional layout was developed, key elements to increase the social aspects of SpoonerSpot were conceived and overall site enhancements were applied.
The first round of enhancements to SpoonerSpot were applied to the live beta site this morning, allowing beta testers to relish in their ideas, now coming to life on SpoonerSpot.com. Several additional ideas are still being developed, and throughout the next few weeks will be incorporated into SpoonerSpot.com. As this process continues, CitySpoon’s team looks forward to receiving additional feedback from the beta testing community, all geared towards an overall team goal of creating a fully engaging social networking site that will eventually become the epitome of geographic micro-blogging.
SpoonerSpot still has a great distance to cover until it will be able to remove the word “beta” from its current state, but the team at CitySpoon Inc. eagerly await that day. The small but determined team, based out of Las Vegas, NV, has managed to achieve a great deal with SpoonerSpot in a short amount of time, and looks forward to an official launch date being announced soon. The team encourages any interested parties to join SpoonerSpot’s open beta, in an effort to receive further feedback that can be used to increase SpoonerSpot’s accessibility. SpoonerSpot.com’s current beta phase is currently live and available for new users to “put their life on the map”!
