The discussion will focus on the future of making TV, movies and video available everywhere to the consumer on demand via downloads and streaming and the future of DVDs.

Empathy Lab, a suburban Philadelphia digital agency focused on driving breakthrough innovations across web, mobile, tablet and smart TV for Fortune 500 and fast-growth organizations around the world, is invited to participate in one of the nation’s leading conferences for digital thought leadership – Digital Hollywood Spring.

Jon Molod, SVP of Media and Entertainment at Empathy Lab, will share his expertise with Digital Hollywood conference attendees on May 2nd, 2012 in Marina del Rey, CA. Jon is the lead architect of Empathy Lab’s strategic, creative and technology services for the rapidly changing Digital Video space. This includes working with a globally diverse group of media companies including Liberty Global, Rogers Communications, Comcast/NBCU, DirecTV, Cogeco, Sony, Televisa, Telenet, UPC, Music Choice, WWE, the DECE (UltraViolet) and others.

“Digital Hollywood is one of the pre-eminent events for experts and those interested in the rapid evolution of digital video, media and entertainment,” said Molod. “I am looking forward to sharing my own experiences and perspectives on where the entertainment industry is going.”

Empathy Lab leads the industry as a TV Everywhere expert. Rogers Communications – one of Canada's largest and most widely known communications companies – engaged Empathy Lab in 2008 to create Rogers Anyplace TV (RAPTV). Launched in 2009, RAPTV was the first TV Everywhere online Video-on-Demand service provided by any cable or satellite TV provider.

Since then, Empathy Lab has collaborated with numerous clients including on the most advanced iteration of TV Everywhere for Liberty Global-owned UPC, unveiled at the IBC 2011 conference in the Netherlands last fall. Empathy Lab designed and developed the user experience for this comprehensive digital entertainment experience, which provides UPC customers with personalized recommendations for shows and movies based upon their viewing patterns and preferences.

Most recently, Empathy Lab teamed up with thePlatform Inc. – the Comcast-owned media publishing firm – to offer a cost-effective, turnkey solution to assist lower tier cable operators in getting up and running with a top-quality, competitive TV Everywhere platform for their subscribers. In working with thePlatform on multiple digital video solutions, Empathy Lab has established a set of user interface design modules, integrated with thePlatform’s technology, that leverage user experience best practices, highly engaging interaction design, and successful content promotion strategies.
