Kim describes “Rootless” as the first-person narrative of a unique life journey through one of the most tumultuous periods in history. It follows Kim’s life from his childhood years during the Korean War and through his voyage across the Pacific Ocean to immigrate to the United States in search of a new life. The entire journey is depicted through Kim’s unique perspective and approaches to life’s challenges, making his story both enlightening and entertaining.

Kim hopes his perseverance through a difficult life will inspire readers. His journey as a wartime child who became an accomplished scientist is unique. He believes his story will connect with all readers, reminding them of the common elements that connect all people.
