I applaud the hard work and commitment of the APTS and The Council of Experts of Republic of Slovenia for Sport in setting national standards that will best serve the people of Slovenia.

Following an extensive process, the NCSF Certified Personal Trainer Program has received accreditation as the national standard of education and testing for Personal Trainers in the Republic of Slovenia by the Council of Experts of Ministry of Education and Sports. The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports supervises operation and management of public education institutions and other institutions in the field of education. The Council of Experts of Republic of Slovenia for Sport, founded in 1999 by the Government of Slovenia, acts to oversee sport and professional assistance in implementing decisions and accepting legislation. They set training program and exam standards, determine and define the required skills and knowledge required of professionals, and decide which national association has the authority over the professional standards based on the law of Republic of Slovenia.

On March 12, 2012 the Council of Experts of Republic of Slovenia for Sport, granted approval to the Association of Personal Trainers of Slovenia (APTS) to utilize the NCSF Personal Trainer Program and NCSF Board Certification Exam as the standard for Personal Trainers in Slovenia. With the cooperative efforts of the NCSF Board for Certification and APTS Board member, Luka Kaplar, the NCSF Personal Trainer Program received its official accreditation and began offering the NCCA accredited NCSF-CPT Exam in Slovenia.

“The accreditation in Slovenia signifies the NCSF and our Board for Certification’s continued effort to offer high quality education and competency assessment for the fitness industry, both domestically and internationally,” said Dr. Brian Biagioli, NCSF Executive Director. “I applaud the hard work and commitment of the APTS and The Council of Experts of Republic of Slovenia for Sport in setting national standards that will best serve the people of Slovenia. We are extremely pleased to be part of this distinction and look forward to our continued work in Slovenia.”
