Pure gets ready to host their skateboarding contests over the next six months.

Pure judges and skaters relax while watching the warm up session.

"You have an amazing mix of skill and entertainment, and there is always a random moment that can make your jaw drop."

Staff and customers alike are already in a fever pitch over the start of the Pure Board Shop skate competitions now that warm weather has taken over. Every year since their grand opening, Pure has expanded the contest season in both scale and range. While initially only incorporating the skaters local to the Annapolis, Maryland area, it now encompasses a large section of the East Coast, bringing in teams from as far as North Carolina and New York. Three tiers of skill divide up the skaters from beginner to advanced.

Those who participate in the competitions are only part of the equation, however. Each contest is sponsored by a large grouping of brands, such as The Hundreds, Real Skateboards, and Almost Skateboards, and each contributes prizes to award those with exceptional skill in their accompanying skill level.

You can also expect visits from energy drink brands like Rockstar and Monster while picking up a burger or hot dog, freshly grilled by the Pure staff.

"Our contests are a great way to spend a warm day," says Mike Robertson, one of the managers at Pure. "You have an amazing mix of skill and entertainment, and there is always a random moment that can make your jaw drop."

This year will bring a large amount of surprises and excitement for Pure Board Shop and the contests it holds. Expect the season to begin in May, and a consistent schedule to follow through until October, and the best way to make sure that you are a part of it is to keep in touch with Pure themselves.

Pure Board Shop is an Annapolis, Maryland based skate shop that retains a fresh inventory of clothing, skateboard, and longboard goods. You can find the latest from Nike SB, Huf, LRG, Adidas, and more at their brick-and-mortar location or through http://www.pureboardshop.com.
