Mark Nay named as HNTB’s architecture business development director

Mark brings a wealth of understanding of the architectural business and more than 27 years of diverse experience.

Mark Nay, AIA, has been named HNTB’s new architecture business development director. In this role, Nay will be in charge of growing HNTB’s architecture business.

Nay’s expertise in project and design management crosses a wide variety of facilities including transportation and station design, aviation, commercial, educational, laboratories, hospitality, performing arts and large-scale housing and urban developments. He also is experienced with multiple project delivery systems including a specialization in design-build.

“Mark brings a wealth of understanding of the architectural business and more than 27 years of diverse experience,” said Bane Gaiser, president of HNTB’s architecture practice. “His management and leadership abilities will strengthen our growing architecture practice.”

In addition to leading in design and project management, Nay also has played a prominent role in successful high-profile projects designed to achieve advanced Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certification for over a decade, including the three at the platinum level and many other projects at the gold and silver levels.

Nay is a graduate from the University of Southern California School of Architecture and an alumni of University of California Berkeley’s School of Engineering. Nay also holds the roles of president and board member for the University of Southern California Architectural Guild, Regent for the California Architectural Foundation, member of the Los Angeles County Architectural Evaluation Board and is a LEED green associate and a member of the American Institute of Architects.
