Geneva, IL (PRWEB) April 18, 2012
Fifth Third Bank and the Kane County Cougars today announce it will host a Food Drive at Fifth Third Bank Ballpark on Thursday, May 3, before the Kane County Cougars game against the Peoria Chiefs. Fans attending the game are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items that will benefit the Northern Illinois Food Bank. May 3rd (5/3) is celebrated by the bank as “Fifth Third Day.”
It was also announced that tickets for the May 3rd game have been deeply discounted to $5.30 per person and are available by visiting the Cougars website at http://www.kccougars.com
The food drive and discounted ticket offer are part of Fifth Third Bank’s plans to officially celebrate the renaming of the Kane County Cougars ballpark as Fifth Third Bank Ballpark. Fifth Third Bank has committed to donating a total of 53,000 meals through the “Fifth Third Day” efforts.
“Fifth Third Bank is committed to helping all the communities we serve,” said Robert A. Sullivan, President & CEO, Fifth Third Bank (Chicago). “Too many of our children, parents and seniors don’t have food to put on the table every day,” Sullivan said. “We must do everything we can do put an end to hunger in Illinois, and we commit to collecting and donating 53,000 meals on May 3rd towards that goal.”
For more than 20 years, Fifth Third Bank has celebrated its own holiday – Fifth Third Day, May 3, or 5/3 on the calendar – by recognizing employees, thanking customers, and most importantly, supporting the communities in which it operates.
“One of the most important components of our partnership with Fifth Third Bank is working together and continuing to maintain an active presence in community initiatives,” said Curtis Haug, Cougars General Manager. “We’re thrilled to welcome fans to the ballpark for a special night on May 3rd as we lend a hand to less fortunate people throughout Northern Illinois.”
