The Grove West Seattle Inn, the only full-service West Seattle hotel, has been awarded the 2011 WestSide Emerging Business Award. The annual honor, presented by the West Seattle Chamber of Commerce, recognizes the best new business venture in the community.

The West Seattle hotel was acknowledged for "undertaking a heroic re-brand that will attract wedding parties, family and guests from out of town.” The Grove was also praised for "employing an experienced staff, and creating a new aesthetic for the inn.”

The Grove started its life 50 years ago as the Mar-Lyn, a West Seattle hotel built for the 1962 Seattle World's Fair. Since that time, the property has remained the only full-service hotel in West Seattle. In recent years, the hotel had begun to show its age. In 2010 a longtime West Seattle family purchased the property and embarked on a full renovation. After outfitting its rooms and suites with a modern color palette, upscale linens and flat panel TVs, the hotel reopened in 2011 as The Grove West Seattle Inn, a stylish hotel for the budget-conscious traveler. Its location just minutes from downtown Seattle, Safeco Field, and Sea-Tac International Airport make The Grove West Seattle Inn a convenient and well-priced alternative to downtown Seattle hotels.
