When describing his new book, “Line upon Line: Papers from Heaven, Messages from Our Father to Help Us Be the Best We Can Be” (published by iUniverse), author Dewey Olmstead speaks with the same simple home spun way he has become known for. “It’s a collection of unique stories about simple truths gleaned from the Holy Scriptures and life’s experiences,” says Olmstead.
A Priesthood leader and devoted student to the Scriptures, Olmstead has been writing essays based on his sometimes unusual insights into the true gospel of Jesus Christ for years. He is an honest, truth-seeking individual believing all people should strive to know all these things for themselves, is anxious to share the truths that can be found in the Scriptures and is committed to helping people grow closer to God.
He shares that he wrote the essays in his new book “because people have been misled about what the truth is” and structures “Line upon Line” as easy to read stories, pointing readers towards the path of peace, understanding and faith. The book, says Olmstead, concentrates on three areas: “our Father in Heaven, who is God; His Son Jesus Christ, the Savior of mankind; and in their glorious Kingdom, which we can inherit.”
When asked what he hopes readers take away from his book, Olmstead was clear. “I hope readers gain an understanding of God and His Son Jesus Christ, and how important every single one of us is in God’s Kingdom.”
