Tom Kelly, philanthropist and president of Neil Kelly Design Build Remodeling, will be honored by The Oregon League of Minority Voters (OLMV) alongside Nike founder Phil Knight on Thursday, May 31, at the Oregon Convention Center.
OLMV’s Fifth Annual Liberty and Hope Award Dinner recognize those in the majority who take extraordinary steps to promote excellence and opportunities for people of color. Organizers anticipate the event to draw more than 400 community members and supporters of this year’s honorees.
“We chose to honor these two men for their efforts to empower and advance the interest of minorities in Oregon,” said OLMV Executive Director Promise King. “We invite all those who share our vision of one great and indivisible Oregon to join us as we celebrate Mr. Knight’s and Mr. Kelly's commitment and contributions.”
Civil rights activist and journalist Myrlie Evers-Williams, widow of slain civil rights icon Medger Evers, will be the keynote speaker. The co-chairs of this year’s event are Chris Dudley, Knute Buehler and James Morris.
