Shelter Co. offers a pop-up, luxury camping experience for groups and events

Shelter Co. is not meant to be a static experience in fixed locations only—we’ll go where the wind, and the celebrations, takes us.

Sparked by the adoration of California’s sweeping landscapes, seascapes and the nostalgic simplicity of summer camp, Northern California wedding and event producer Kelsey Sheofsky of Alison Events announces the launch of Shelter Co. — a clever cure for wilderness wanderlust, anytime, and most anywhere, a group or event requires it. http://www.shelter-co.com

With hubs in San Francisco and Los Angeles, Shelter Co. debuts on the scene with one goal in mind – to transform formerly inaccessible spaces, such as private properties, parks and other negotiable areas, as host-sites for a pop up, high-end camping experience for groups and events. The launch of Shelter Co. also includes exclusive property partnerships throughout California, including: Barn Diva Farm in Philo, Campovida in Hopland, Leonard Lake Reserve in Redwood Valley, and Scribe Winery in Sonoma and even sites in Santa Ynez, Big Sur, and Joshua Tree, with more to come.

Featuring fully-furnished European style canvas tents and all the a-la-cart amenities required for a truly distinctive and curated experience, Shelter Co. is a luxury camping collective tailored for weddings, family reunions, corporate retreats, music festivals or most any small or large group seeking a carefree, streamlined and completely unique alternative to traditional lodging. Starting at $250 per tent for a weekend, prices vary greatly according to package and amenities.

“The idea for Shelter Co. was spun from countless requests from clients asking for hassle-free, intimate, yet attainable locations to host guests for special events and having very little to offer,” says Sheofsky, co-founder of Shelter Co. with her husband Mike. “I realized quickly that the core of clients’ desires was a beautiful piece of land to celebrate a momentous occasion, but the logistics of blocking hotel rooms, exorbitant fees or shuttling guests always got in the way.”

Depending on a group’s unique needs, Shelter Co. can provide everything from furnished tents and restrooms to full service catering and activities. Guests are able to enjoy a unique experience in even the most far-flung locations with all the comforts of home. In addition, as a company founded on the principals of reigniting a passion for outdoor exploration, sustainable practices and maintaining the purity of California open spaces, Shelter Co. will donate a portion of annual proceeds to benefit the California State Parks Foundation.

“This is camping, evolved, but not without losing sight of what’s truly important,” adds Sheofsky. “We want clients and event producers to come to us with ideas and locations on where they’d like to set up their Shelter Co. experience. Our property partners are a great perk, but Shelter Co. is not meant to be a static experience in fixed locations only—we’ll go where the wind, and the celebrations, takes us.”
