Hatfield, PA (PRWEB) April 18, 2012
On April 25th, Irving Glickman will celebrate his 100th birthday and a manufacturing career that has spanned seven decades. As a pioneer in the development of synthetic rubber, Mr. Glickman saw the greater potential of thermoplastics and in 1956, he founded The Rodon Group. Today, Rodon is one of the largest family-owned and operated injection molders in the United States serving a diverse group of industries including consumer products, medical, construction, pharmaceutical and toys. The company has grown from a modest four press operation to 105 molding machines with robotic capabilities.
The company's growth accelerated in 1992 when Irving's son, Joel Glickman, invented the popular construction toy system known as K'NEX. K'NEX is the only construction toy company manufacturing all of its construction components in the United States. While the return of US manufacturing is making the headlines these days, Mr. Glickman never wavered from his commitment to producing quality Made-In-America products.
Irving Glickman has witnessed a great deal in his lifetime; including the great depression and several wars. However, it is his pioneering commitment to maximizing the versatility of plastics that will leave a mark on the industry and American manufacturing.
“We are thrilled to be able to celebrate the 100th birthday of our Dad. It was his vision, business savvy and entrepreneurial spirit that laid the foundation for the global enterprise we are fortunate to be a part of today”, said Joel and Bob Glickman, Irving’s sons.
